“What is the most dangerous animal in the world?”

If we count by the annual number of victims among humans, the most dangerous animals in the world are mosquitoes, which cause approximately one million deaths each year through the diseases they carry.

As for the most deadly animals, snakes are definitely among them – about 50,000 people die each year from snake bites or suffocation by various snake species. The highest number of deaths is caused by contact with the Australian taipan and the black mamba found in Sub-Saharan Africa.

However, if we were to identify the most deadly representative of a single species, rather than the entire family or order of animals, it would be the Nile hippopotamus, which inhabits Sub-Saharan Africa (it has been eradicated in Egypt). It is estimated that this animal is responsible for approximately 3,000 deaths each year, mainly due to overturning boats and subsequent drowning of passengers, less frequently due to trampling. Attacks occur because these animals are very territorial and aggressively defend their habitats.
