The Golden Age of Hollywood, Old Hollywood, the Golden Age of Hollywood – this same era is referred to by different names, but all emphasize the extraordinary enchantment of this period. It is generally believed that the period lasted from the late 1920s to the end of the 1950s. The Golden Age of Hollywood is the name given to a specific style of American cinema that dominated the world at that time. The major film studios created new stars, who were often tied to the companies through long-term contracts. It was during this time that luminaries such as Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Peck, and Gene Kelly shone on the silver screen.
