“Where do persimmons grow?”

Where does the increasingly popular persimmon fruit grow in our country? In which country does it naturally occur and where is it cultivated?

In its natural conditions, the persimmon grows in eastern Asia. It can be found in China, India, Korea, and Japan. China is considered the homeland of the persimmon, from where this fruit has made its way to other Asian countries and eventually to other continents.

However, the persimmon fruit has also been introduced to Europe and is cultivated in countries such as Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, and Greece. Other popular countries cultivating persimmons on their territory include Brazil, the USA (specifically California), and Israel.
