“What Butterflies Welcome Spring?”

Butterflies are beautiful insects often called harbingers of spring. The first specimens start appearing at the end of March and in April. However, even in February, you can spot moths, which are the nocturnal counterparts of butterflies, with the herald moths being the most dominant. The first spring butterflies hibernate in their adult form. Some of the most popular early spring species include the lemon butterfly, comma butterfly, peacock butterfly, mourning cloak butterfly, small tortoiseshell butterfly, and the holly blue butterfly.
