“How Many Spots Does a Ladybug Have?”

In Poland, there are as many as 76 species of ladybirds. The most popular is the ten-spot ladybird, although not all ladybirds have ten spots. Popular ladybirds include:

Two-spot ladybird – it mainly lives in the mountains. The insect’s armor has symmetrical black spots and can also have orange markings.

Five-spot ladybird – one of the most popular and beneficial ladybirds. It feeds on aphids, spider mites, and scale insects, among others.

Seven-spot ladybird – also known as the lady cow. It is slightly larger than its predecessor. It also feeds on pests such as aphids.

Ten-spot ladybird – the most popular ladybird. It occurs not only in red but also in orange and yellow colorations.

Twenty-spot ladybird – it has a characteristic black spot on its armor. It usually has a red coloration, but there are also orange specimens.

Asian ladybird – also known as the ninja or harlequin ladybird. It feeds on pests such as aphids. Compared to Polish species, it has a more rounded armor. It is most commonly found in orange and yellow colorations. It can deliver painful bites.
